Occupational Therapy helps children overcome challenges in movement and coordination, play and social skills, learning and behavior.

Occupational Therapy helps children to develop their abilities in:

Table top skills: pre-writing, coloring, drawing, handwriting, scissor skills and crafts.

Whole body skills: running, jumping, hopping, skipping and sitting posture.

Sensory processing: producing appropriate responses to sensations (to support behavior, attention, self-regulation and learning).

Self management: dressing, toileting, eating, sleeping, organization and planning.

Occupational Therapy improves the functional skills that are required across environments. while the actual ‘therapy’ occurs in the clinic or school setting, our Occupational Therapy team works closely with parents, teachers and other care-givers to implement strategies to help skills develop in child care, kindergarten and school environments.

Empowered Learning Transformation Centers provides quality occupational therapy services for individuals and schools.

Zones of Regulation Curriculum

Collaboration/Consultation Services: Empowered Learning Transformation Centers provides collaboration and consultation services for schools and families. For children who have been evaluated and would benefit from ongoing support, we provide school collaboration services, working with teachers and school staff to implement strategies and recommendations given in the student's evaluation.

Small Groups: Empowered Learning Transformation Centers provides small group services for students. Our groups are carefully selected based on age, ability level and area of challenge and include:

Handwriting/Fine-Motor: 2-6 children will work on developing the small muscles in their hands as well as the skill of coordinating their eyes and hands to work together. The objective of this group is to improve handwriting and small motor coordination for school related tasks such as cutting, gluing, beading and folding.

Feeding Therapy: Our therapists use the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding in a 2-6-person group format. This program is designed for picky eaters who have developed anxieties related to eating or trying new foods. The group approach is designed to be fun, play based and stress-free for the children. Through multi-sensory play and careful systematic desensitization, over time children often learn to reduce their fears associated with eating and expand their food repertoire.

Self-Regulation Groups: We use the Zones of Regulation approach to self-regulation and emotional control in our group.  2-4 children work together with a therapist to learn about their sensory system, understanding and recognizing their arousal and learning tools and activities to match their arousal level and emotional response to the particular activity, environment or situation.

School Readiness Groups: 4-6 children work together on targeted topics to prepare for TK and Kindergarten entrance.

Early Intervention Services: Empowered Learning Transformation Centers, we provide in-home assessments and treatment for eligible children ages 0-3. If your child is not eligible, or you are looking for additional services, we provided private-pay, in-home services with a referral from your child's pediatrician.
