At our cognitive assessment Centers in New Jersey, you or your child will be evaluated as an individual to determine the most accurate diagnosis and therefore, the best treatment plan. We evaluate children and adults of all ages, including pre-kindergarten screening for kindergarten placement.
A learning disability is an impairment in reading, writing, and math not explained by overall intellectual functioning.
The cause is neurological—it is not a reflection of motivation or laziness and cannot be overcome by sheer willpower.
The only way a learning disability can be diagnosed is by neuropsychological testing or neuropsychological assessment, also called psychoeducational testing. The Empowered Learning Transformation Centers offers learning disability and dyslexia testing in New Jersey to discover and evaluate neuropsychological impairments that may be affecting you or a loved one.
Neuropsychological testing is critically necessary to diagnose a variety of learning disorders including dyslexia, dyscalculia, non-verbal learning disability, central auditory processing disorder, and a specific learning disorder involving reading, writing or math. We also evaluate for intellectual disability when that issue arises.
It’s important for you to have an evaluation done correctly. There are many types of tests for a learning disability, and some more accurate or appropriate than others. Be sure your evaluation is thorough and uses the most appropriate tests for you. At Empowered Learning Transformation Centers, we have evaluated thousands of persons for learning disabilities, including dyslexia, in New Jersey. Our specialists know which tests are most appropriate for you.
Workplace, Test or School Accommodations
We provide extensive written reports for testing agencies (e.g. ACT, SAT, GRE, MCAT, LSAT, GMAT, USMLE and others) as well as schools, boards of education or employers to assist with accommodations if warranted. We offer fast turnaround time for reports if a deadline is fast approaching. Persons with a diagnosis of ADD, ADHD, learning disability or a cognitive disorder may qualify for extended time on a school or standardized examination such as testing in a quiet room or having a reader or scribe.
Testing agencies are very strict in what tests they require to be administered and reported. It is critical for you to be evaluated by someone who has experience in testing persons for accommodations on standardized tests. If your scores are reported differently than the agency requires, or the required tests are not administered, your application will be rejected. At Empowered Learning Transformation Centers, our reports are routinely accepted for test accommodations and we know the specific requirements for each test agency. Call us today for an appointment and have your New Jersey dyslexia testing or other learning disability assessment done correctly to avoid having to be re-tested later to satisfy the requirements of your test agency.
