Empowered Learning Transformation Centers
Help me to Help Myself
Empowered Learning Transformation Centers is a long-standing serving preschool and elementary age children in Long Branch NJ. Since 1995, we have offered the highest quality Montessori education in an environment that nurtures the whole child and provides a strong, loving community for the entire family.
Ages 3-6 / Includes kindergarten year
The fundamental purpose of all Montessori education efforts is to create a more peaceful world through nurturing the spirit of the developing young child. This objective differs from traditional teaching for it requires that children be made aware of their higher purpose over self-service or self-indulgence. This philosophy cultivates a respect and curiosity for the natural world and an understanding and acceptance of others through the virtues of love, humility, perseverance, adaptability, kindness, and compassion. “Help me to help myself” is the call of the primary child, and they develop their own sense of self and independence through direct experience with the Montessori materials and in relationship to the classroom community.

All Empowered Learning Transformation Centers classrooms encompass an age span of three years, allowing younger students to learn from older role models and older students to test and reinforce their knowledge by helping younger classmates. Working in one class for three years, children are able to develop a strong sense of community with classmates and teachers. This gives them a solid foundation on which to build their future interactions with others and the world.
Empowered Learning Transformation Centers is organized into a mosaic of integrated studies, in contrast with the traditional education methods in which the curriculum is compartmentalized into subjects that are treated separately.
Each of our programs implements a thematic approach that ties the various disciplines of the curriculum together into studies of the physical universe, the natural world, and the human experience.
Our curriculum includes language arts (elements of reading, spelling, handwriting and Spanish language), mathematics and geometry, history, science, art, music and physical education. Additionally, all 3rd through 6th grade students learn to read music and play classical guitar. Each classroom has access to our campus library. We also have frequent assemblies featuring visiting artists, musicians, spiritual and cultural speakers, and career professionals. Parents are welcome to attend.
